Ch-ch-ch-changes

I have been used to being alone for so long, being around people can be difficult.
And I am around them a lot these days.

I got hurt, which put me on the same shift as my brother...days. I have to wake up at 6:00am, which is like kryptonite to me.
His job is changing, so he has had an extended period of time off. He is like me, a homebody.
My little brother moved in with us, as he looks for a job.

I haven't been by myself in 2 weeks. I am working in a cubicle farm with 3 other guys around me all day. On the drive home, somebody invariably calls on the phone. When I get home, there is at least one other person in the house. No privacy. No chance to sit and write without somebody looking over my shoulder.

I have gone from solitary confinement to general population, and I am having a rough go of it.

I did get a short respite, recently.

I was alone...for the entire day.

I woke up when I was done sleeping, had some coffee, and just enjoyed the solitude. I played some Bejeweled on the computer, played around on the internet a bit. When I was fully awake, I went to the gym and had a great workout. I then came home and cleaned 2 of my favorite things:
I took my grill apart and cleaned it thoroughly.
I handwashed my little car, then put a coat of wax on it.

I think I spoke a total of 10 words the entire day. Heavenly.
I needed a day like that.

Soon, I will be back in my normal grind. I go back to my regular duty this week. No more alarm clocks, mornings alone, driving around in my car alone.

My mind will be better for the times I am around those I love. I will be rested and not frantically looking for solitude.

I will have had my fill and I will be looking for company.
